In May 2024, at the COMEX Global Technology Exhibition in Muscat, Oman, STAR.VISION signed space computing cooperation agreements with four cooperation units in three countries, including the Kenya Space Agency, Tunisia's TELNET Satellite Group, Oman's Sultan Qaboos University and Oman's Military Institute of Technology. Wang Xuhong, Charge d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Oman, witnessed the signing.
This series of agreements aims to use the space computing platform ofSTAR.VISION's in-orbit satellite to jointly develop on-board algorithm systems with scientific research institutions in the Middle East, Africa and other regions to serve the region's emergency response, disaster reduction and humanitarian relief, and is committed to responding to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and using space technology to narrow the poverty gap.
The Kenya Space Agency is the most complete national space industry development organization in East Africa.
TELNET is the largest satellite Internet of Things operator in Tunisia and even North Africa.
Oman's Sultan Qaboos University and Oman's Military Institute of Technology are top local scientific research and higher education institutions. Among them, Sultan Qaboos University of Oman will further cooperate on software, hardware and algorithm platforms based on the successful cooperation with STAR.VISION in 2023, and plans to jointly release scientific research results with STAR.VISION at the 75th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) held in Milan, Italy in October 2024.
In addition, the Bahrain National Space Agency also joined STAR.VISION' global space computing cooperation program in April. Officials of the Bahrain National Space Agency remotely accessed the COMEX conference and expressed a strong interest in multilateral international cooperation in space technology.
STAR.VISION will soon sign such agreements with 20 partners in more than 15 countries, covering several space technology research institutions and commercial organizations in four continents: Europe, America, Asia and Africa.
